Englewood Railway, Woss, Vancouver Island B.C. - Click on Photos to enlarge.

Englewood Railway was the oldest and last running logging railroad in North America.

The railway was built in 1917 and the original owners,  Wood and English, sold it to Canfor in 1944.  They renamed it Englewood Logging Division.

In 2006 they sold it to Western Forest Products who still owns it today. The Englewood Railway is a 90-kilometer logging line that runs from Vernon Lake, through Woss, past Nimpkish Lake Provincial Park to Beaver Cove.  Its headquarters was in Woss.

Woss, is a small village that is sometimes also known as Woss Lake. It was named after the 18km lake nearby, it is part of the Regional District of Mount Waddington.

Western Forest Products announced they were closing the railway in 2017. It became more cost efficient to use trucks.  Now this old logging rail memorabilia is all that is left.
